Ft. Lauderdale, Fl. – January 23, 2019 – StevenDouglas, a leading boutique executive search and interim resources firm is celebrating 35 years in business in January 2019. Steve Sadaka started the firm in Miami in 1983 after gaining experience in Public Accounting and seeing a need for highly qualified talent in the region. Since then, the boutique firm has grown to 15 office locations, 100 employees, 250 project consultants, and $54m in revenue in 2018.
Expansion has been a trend for the firm in recent years, achieving the Inc 5000 list five years in a row, and being ranked in the Top 50 Recruiting Firms in America by Hunt Scanlon. In 2018, the firm opened new offices in Toronto, Atlanta, and acquired an IT staffing firm with an office in the DC Metro area. In the 4th quarter they launched a second NY office and a new search practice in Chicago.
“We are extremely proud of the culture we have built and the incredible team we have assembled. We are also very grateful for our clients and candidates who put so much faith in us, some of which have been with the firm the entire 35 years”, said Steve Sadaka, StevenDouglas founder & CEO.
It is true that StevenDouglas has a reputation for keeping clients for the long haul with over 60% of the firm’s placements in 2018 coming from existing clients. This type of continuity is a big reason why the company has been able to grow revenue a staggering 1000% since 2005. But it’s not only clients that stay with the firm, as more than one third of firm’s employees have been with StevenDouglas for over 5 years, and many have been with the firm well over a decade and some over two decades.
“In an industry fraught with employee turnover, we have worked hard to become an employer of choice and create an environment where the best players want to work for our firm” Matt Shore, President of StevenDouglas. He went on to say, “People want to work in an environment where they can have fun coming to work, be well compensated, be treated with respect, and be supported through good times and bad. That is what we have built here at StevenDouglas and because of that, people never leave and in the few cases where they have left voluntarily, they have come back to the firm year’s later.”
